Just when you’re about to fall into the depths of despair, you hear a news story that warms the cockles of your heart. And we have Abramoff and the unending corruption of the Republicans to thank! Actually, I don’t know whether to be happy they were caught or depressed that they are capable of such misuse of power. Yes, that wonderful organization that pays lip service to “values” -- it turns out that they are (gasp!) greedy sumbitches. Shocking! First DeLay, then Ney. Will this influence election results? Sadly, since lots of American are still terrified that gay people might be able to get married and that teenagers are having abortions, it won’t make a damned bit of difference.
