Ummm...so is it weird to be in love with dish towels?

But they're soooo cute. Doesn't that make it okay? I wish I could buy fabric by the yard with some of PataPri's designs.

Cheerleading for Girls!

personalcreations, originally uploaded by silverzephyr.

For some reason, we get many ridiculous catalogs, particularly around Christmas. We received one from "Personal Creations" the other day that was particularly terrible. Almost all the personalizable items featuring a human character allowed a choice of "blonde or brunette" (but not the, you know, race of the human or anything like that). And then there was this little gem, which states this item is available for "Soccer, Basketball, Hockey, Baseball, Football, Running and Golf for Boys. Cheerleading for girls." I mean, c'mon, not even Softball? This made Dave and I both laugh and cry.

Seriously, I Need To Stop Looking At Design Sites

Yeah, thanks a lot Design* for making me want beautiful things I can't have! I can't help but share this amazing flip clock by japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara.

Flip Clock

There are 84 original drawings that appear by each hour and minute. Has anyone seen or made a flip clock DIY project? I wonder if you can buy the mechanism and create your own?

Three Potato Four

I love this new online store Three Potato Four filled with wonderful new and vintage items with great design. I've been in love with these vases from for J. Mendicino since I first saw them.

And this bag is cute, sophisticated and makes me pine for a midwestern autumn. Sigh.

Obsessed

gocco, originally uploaded by silverzephyr.

I've been kind of obsessed with Gocco Kits and prints in the past couple of weeks. It looks like so much fun! I love the artwork that I've been seeing on etsy and it seems incredibly versatile. My understanding is that at one point the company that created these back in the 70's was going to stop making them but there was such interest from the craft community they are still being manufactured. Anyway, check out some of the swank art below. All of the artists have stores on etsy.
